Juice of half a lemon
2 oz vodka
1 tsp of simple syrup
1oz of limoncello
To make the simple syrup, heat 1 cup of sugar and 1 cup of water in a small sauce pot until the sugar dissolves. You can keep in the fridge for a week or in the freezer for up to 6 months.
Place 4-5 leaves of basil in a martini shaker with the lemon juice, vodka, simple syrup and limoncello. Muddle together. Add ice and shake. Using a strainer, pour the mixture through the strainer and into a martini glass or coup. Garnish with a fresh basil leaf.
