Created by "yours truly"at the Ritz Carlton in Budapest, this twist on the traditional cosmopolitan uses Hungary's national spirit, Palinka.  Palinka is hard to find in the United States, so use any clear apricot brandy such as Takovo Kjsija from Serbia, the flavor is very similar.

In a martini shanker, pour 2oz of the apricot brandy, 2oz of cranberry juice, 1 oz of cointreau and 1 ounce of fresh squeezed lime juice (make sure to pour the lime juice through a strainer before adding to the shaker to avoid excess pulp).  Add ice to the shaker and shake vigorously.

Pour into a martini glass and garnish with a lime twist.
